Weeknight Duo: 10" Fry Pan & All-in-One Pan
Share
The Weeknight Duo keeps cleanup down to two pans: the 10" fry pan handles quick searing and smaller stir-fries, while the ceramic all-in-one pan covers dishes that benefit from more depth, like fried rice and chili. Here are four dinners that put the set to work.
Chicken Fajitas
Serves 4 · About 25 minutes
Ingredients: 500g chicken breast (sliced into strips), 2 bell peppers (sliced), 1 onion (sliced), 2 tbsp fajita seasoning (or chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder), 2 tbsp oil, 8 small tortillas, lime and cilantro to serve.
- 10" fry pan: Heat oil, sear seasoned chicken strips over high heat until browned and cooked through, about 7 minutes (internal temperature 74°C / 165°F). Sear in two batches if the strips look crowded, so they brown instead of steam. Remove and tent with foil.
- Ceramic pan: Saute peppers and onions over medium-high until softened with some char, about 8 minutes.
- Ceramic pan: Once cooked, reduce heat to low and add the chicken back in to keep everything warm together while the tortillas heat.
- Serve in warmed tortillas with lime and cilantro.
Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry
Serves 4 · About 25 minutes
Ingredients: 450g flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain), 3 cups broccoli florets, 3 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated), 1/3 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water, 2 tbsp oil (1 tbsp for the beef, 1 tbsp for the aromatics and broccoli).
- Whisk the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water together in a small bowl.
- 10" fry pan: Heat the first tbsp of oil over medium-high. Because a 10" pan has less surface area, sear the beef in two batches — a single layer, 1-2 minutes per side — to avoid crowding it. Remove to a plate.
- 10" fry pan: Reduce heat to medium. Add the second tbsp of oil, garlic, and ginger, 30 seconds. Add broccoli and 1/3 cup water, cover, and steam 3-4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
- 10" fry pan: Uncover, let excess water evaporate. Return the beef and its juices to the pan. Stir the sauce again, pour it in, and toss 1-2 minutes until it thickens and coats everything.
Egg Fried Rice
Serves 4 · About 20 minutes
Ingredients: 4 cups cold cooked rice (day-old is best), 3 eggs (beaten), 1 onion (diced), 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, 3 green onions (sliced), 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
- Ceramic pan: Heat 1 tbsp oil, scramble the eggs softly, remove and set aside.
- Ceramic pan: Add remaining oil, saute onion 2 minutes, then peas and carrots 3 minutes.
- Ceramic pan: Add cold rice, breaking up clumps, stir-fry 5-6 minutes until heated through and slightly crisp in spots.
- Ceramic pan: Return the eggs to the pan, add soy sauce and sesame oil, and toss to combine. Finish with green onions.
Weeknight Chili
Serves 4-6 · About 40 minutes
Ingredients: 500g ground beef, 1 onion (diced), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 bell pepper (diced), 2 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 796mL canned diced tomatoes, 2 cans (540mL each) kidney beans (drained), 1 cup beef broth, salt, pepper.
- Ceramic pan: Brown the beef with onion and garlic, about 8 minutes, until no longer pink throughout (internal temperature 71°C / 160°F). Drain excess fat.
- Ceramic pan: Add bell pepper, chili powder, and cumin, cook 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Ceramic pan: Add tomatoes, beans, and broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Ceramic pan: Cover partially and simmer 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Emotional Payload
Post mode: Inspire
Core frustration: Weeknights don't leave room for a sink full of dishes, but takeout gets old and expensive fast.
Before / after: Defaulting to takeout on busy nights, then having two go-to pans that turn dinner around in under 30 minutes with minimal cleanup.
Us-vs-them: "30-minute meal" content that still uses four pans and a mixing bowl vs. a set that's genuinely built for two.
Narrative angle: Action
