Happy Sinks Care Guide

Your dish rack works hard every day — and with a little regular care, it’ll stay clean, rust-free, and looking great for years. Here’s how to keep your Happy Sinks rack in top shape.

Daily Habits

  • Empty it daily. Don’t let dishes sit in the rack for extended periods — standing water leads to mineral deposits and mildew.
  • Wipe down the drip tray. After the dishes are put away, give the tray a quick wipe to prevent water pooling.
  • Air it out. If possible, tip the rack slightly or remove the tray to let air circulate underneath.

Weekly Cleaning

  • Remove all components and wash with warm soapy water and a soft brush or sponge.
  • Pay attention to the joints and corners where mildew tends to build up.
  • Rinse thoroughly and let all parts air dry completely before reassembling.
  • For stainless steel components: wipe in the direction of the grain to avoid scratching.

Removing Mineral Deposits (Hard Water Stains)

If you live in a hard water area, white mineral deposits will build up over time. Here’s how to remove them:

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water.
  2. Soak affected parts for 15–30 minutes.
  3. Scrub gently with a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly.
  4. For stubborn deposits, apply undiluted white vinegar and let sit for an hour before scrubbing.

Preventing Rust

  • Always dry the rack thoroughly after cleaning — never leave it wet.
  • If you notice any chips in the coating, dry that area immediately after each use to prevent rust from forming.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch protective coatings.

Deep Cleaning

Once a month, do a full deep clean:

  1. Disassemble all removable parts.
  2. Soak in a solution of warm water and a few drops of dish soap for 20 minutes.
  3. Scrub all surfaces, rinse well, and dry completely in the sun if possible.
  4. Reassemble only when fully dry.
